If you would like to get your hands on a free packing list full of everything you will need to pack to university plus a BONUS shopping list, keep on reading!
In this post you will be able to get your hands on a FREE university packing list on the top of a long curated list of 10 dorm room items, I couldn’t live without during my first year of university!
University season is nearly upon us, which means you all are starting to write the dreaded packing list. If you are a fresher or are just returning back to university, you will be packing your life up, or in my case, buying everything on move-in day (a story for another time).
Well, I have saved you hours and hours of racking your brain! By compiling a VERY long list of everything that you will need to take to university/college into a printable!
What is a printable?
Printables are downloadable PDFs that you are usually artwork or graphic design templates. The best thing about printables is that can either: access it on your phone or print them off and physically tick off items you have packed.
I know how overwhelming packing can be, so I hope I have taken some stress off!
A FEW THINGS TO NOTE:
- I have left empty boxes, so you can easily fill in anything you would like to add or I have missed
- Starred items are not a necessity, but feel free to pack them if you want!
- The first food shop is full of many bits and bobs as well as your food for the week, I left a column for you to add your food shop
DISCLAIMER: Please make sure you check your university or colleges website so you are aware of items you are not allowed to take with you.
10 DORM ROOM ITEMS I COULDN’T LIVE WITHOUT:
1. EXTENSION CORD
Wall outlets are very scarce and placed very randomly in dorm rooms. Before I went to university, I watched so many “University shopping hauls” on YouTube. Nearly everyone recommended an extension cord and a year later, I can see why… My favourite kinds are the ones with USB outlets.
2. LARGE BLANKETS
Blankets are so multifunctional, my favourite way to use blankets are to cover ugly chairs that come with the room.
3. SILK PILLOWCASE
You guys already know how much I love silk pillowcases, I even mentioned it in my July favourites! The best thing about silk pillowcases is that they help prevent damage to your hair as well as being really good for your skin.
4.VELVET HANGERS
Perfect for keeping your clothes on the hanger, without slipping and sliding!
5. MAKEUP MIRROR
One of my holy grails! Love this one because there have different magnifications.
6. MATTRESS TOPPER
EVERYONE needs one of these! Not only do you not know what has been laying on the dorm mattresses, but it also makes your bed 10 times comfier.
7. BED TRAY
I honestly didn’t think I would use this as much as I did! My mum persuaded me to buy one, but I can honestly say how multifunctional it is. Bed desk trays don’t have to be used just for studying, my favourite way is to was to use it when I’m eating in bed, whilst watching YouTube.
8. FIRST AID KIT
It is better to be safe than sorry. I made a mistake of not buying one before I moved in, which left us stuck when my mum cut herself on move-in day!
9. LAUNDRY BASKET
Laundry baskets are essential but are so easy to forget when dorm shopping. There are 2 styles, I used the basket that does not separate your dark and light clothes to save space. However, I love the idea of separating clothes by colour!
10. VITAMIN ORGANISERS
Freshers flu is a real thing! So you should all be taking multivitamins daily to keep your immune system up. I can be extremely forgetful so I found this vitamin organiser so handy. This is my favourite one that I’ve had for years.
And that’s it!
I hope I was able to take some stress off, with both the packing list and first food shop printable! If you haven’t already, make sure to subscribe to my email list for extra content that didn’t make my platforms, tips and tricks and much more xx
See you next Monday!
